RANIBARI FOREST
One of the last remaining primary forest within the Kathmandu valley is Ranibari forest. It is located between Samakhusi and Lazimpat.This forest still retains a considerable number of bird species. A popular religious site for local people and a small shrine is dedicated to Ranidevi the Queen's Goddess. This forest is protected for religious reasons.
