The migratory wetland dependent bird in Kathmandu valley attracts Bagmati River & Taudaha Lake. The stretch of Bagmati South of Kathmandu from Chovar George ( through which the waters of Kathmandu Lake were released by Manjusri ), is particularly good for warders. Despite increasing in the river pollution & lose habitat warders still found in good numbers.

Taudaha Lake
It is remaining natural lake in Kathmandu which legend relates, was created by Manjusri to provide a home for the Nags which lived in the great valley lake.The local people believe that the Nags are still resident in the pond and keep well away from it. The lake is host a gigantic serpents : Karkot, King of the Nag. The Lake supports winter migrant ducks.

It takes 30 minutes by private vehicle. If you travelling by public bus regular buses going to Dakchinkali from Ratnapark and takes about 45 minutes. you have to get off at Cement Factory near Chovar George and walk along bank of Bagmati River till confluence of Bagmati and Bosan Khola then upwards to Taudaha Lake.
